Day 5: Melrose

So nice to wake knowing we didn’t have to rush off! A cold morning, which was quickly sorted by auntie Jodes’ genius suggestion of lighting a fire 😄 Rain drizzled on and off, over a pretty relaxed morning. We had a walk through town after lunch, then a short walk up to the war memorial in the afternoon with the kids. Would be lovely to walk the summit hike, but not carrying a 4 year old,so we kept it simple. Antony and Jodes put on an amazingly luxurious dinner with cheese, bubbles, camp oven lamb shanks and red wine, so we’ve been thoroughly spoilt!
