Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers! ☺️ I got up early (after enjoying some lazy sleep ins), to make breakfast, which somehow still took me almost to 10am to finish! 🙃 Anyway, we were finally able to eat french toast with bacon and strawberries for breakfast (since it was such a hit a few mornings back!). The kids had been busy working on cards all morning, and we presented Richie with a small selection of gluten free beers.
We had a relaxed morning otherwise, the kids played a bit of soccer again – they have really been getting into it! I chopped Bonnie’s hair off very short, to try stop her chewing it (her suggestion!). Then we all headed to Tim’s parents’ place for afternoon tea. We enjoyed lovely coffee and cake, and were lucky to actually catch them since they’ll be travelling to Croatia on Tuesday!
We then dropped Bonnie back with Soph and the kids, and we went on with Otis to check out Tim’s new house, and meet Sara. Otis didn’t want to stay behind, and we were worried he would get bored, but actually he had a great time on the trampoline, then a scooter, then playing with Jack and Tessa’s things without anyone to interrupt him! 😄 He especially enjoyed Jack’s Lego, which Tim has carefully sorted according to type! I think Tim was terrified Otis would undo all his hard work! 😆 We had a lovely dinner, it was great chatting with Sara and we loved seeing Tim’s house and garden and all his work on the place so far.
Back to Freemantle, and Soph had managed to get all the kids (and herself) to sleep. Otis went to bed and the grown ups had a whisky by the fire before retiring – a Lark Hill, after reminiscing about us all drinking a bottle of it at Old Canowie before doing the Larapinta Trail! 🤪
